VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Meridian Group-Marketing/Communications
(TMG), a full-service advertising and public relations agency, has
added Terry Kelley, Kolleen Grattan and Jaclyn Bailey to its Virginia
Beach Public Relations Team. Saul Darville and Edison Frazer have
been added to the Fort Lauderdale team. Terry Kelley-
Director of Public Relations and Corporate Communications
Kelley helped start the agency’s PR firm fourteen years ago when
it was Kelley Reilly and Smith. Since that time Kelley has worked
in a consulting role with many clients including Greg Norman,
MCI, Dollar Rent A Car, GTE Cellular, Ryder System, Delta Airlines,
Cal Ripken, College Football USA, Major League Baseball, the NFL,
the PGA TOUR and most recently, the ownership of the San Francisco
49ers. Kelley also helped found TeamLink in Atlanta where he served
as Senior Vice President for Business Development. Under his guidance
the company became the world’s largest sports information system
and revolutionized the way information moved around the world.
More importantly, he forged relationships with all of the nation’s
media outlets by integrating them through TeamLink. “It was an
extended seminar working with some of the best and brightest people
in the marketing and sports industry,” Kelley said of his ten
years away from the Meridian Group.In addition to being Team Leader
for Public Relations and Corporate Communications teams TMG, he
is an advisor to the National Association of Collegiate Directors
of Athletics, the National Football Foundation and serves on the
board of the Edward J. DeBartolo, Sr. Memorial Scholarship Foundation
and with the John McLendon Foundation.
Kolleen Grattan- Senior Public Relations Counselor
Grattan has over 20 years of international and domestic experience
as a marketing and public relations strategist. She comes from
New York, where she was Vice President of Marketing and Public
Relations at Chaffee, Craig, Michos, Ricco, Inc. (CCMR) from March
2002-October 2003. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Account
Services for Banik Creative Group in the western U.S. from June
2001-February 2002. Before coming to the U.S. in 2001, Grattan
headed up her own public relations and marketing consulting firm,
K.G. Communications, in Ottawa, Canada. As president of K.G. Communications
for over 15 years, Grattan provided aggressive marketing and public
relations solutions for the tourism, arts, sports, business, industry,
high technology, government and non-profit sectors, while acting
as a liaison with multiple levels of government at the federal,
provincial and municipal levels.
Jaclyn Bailey- Public Relations Assistant
Bailey’s efforts will be directed toward client media relations
and editorial activities. She is a recent graduated Magna Cum
Laude from Virginia Wesleyan College, Norfolk, VA, with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Communications. She is a five-time dean’s list
representative and was named 2004 Journalism Student of the Year.
She was a two-sport athlete. Bailey also won ESPN’s Student Journalism
Award in recent months. In the past, Bailey handled marketing
projects for the Virginia Wesleyan College Sports Information
office and worked media relations for the 2004 NCAA Division III
Women’s Basketball Tournament.
Saul Darville- Creative Team
Darville comes to TMG from the Life Extension Foundation where
he was the Creative Art Director since March 2002. Before joining
TMG, Darville also worked on accounts including, Fidelity Federal
Bank and Trust and The Ritz Carlton with Wilesmith Advertising
and Design in West Palm Beach, Fla. from Sept. 1999 to Jan. 2001.
He also worked with Cunard and Seabourne from June 1998 to Aug.
1999 while working for Paradigm Communications out of Tampa, Fla.
Darville combines his strategic thinking and creative touch to
help shape the varying brands of a diverse clientele including,
leisure, travel and retail. He is known for his acute ability
to blend passion, talent and commitment into each project, and
strives to develop a clear focus and consistency in the company’s
communication practices.
Edison Frazer- Florida region Media Director
Frazer comes from Kelley Swafford Roy in Miami, Florida where
he worked in 2003-2004. He has also worked with General Motors
Corp., Nestle, Gateway Computers and many government agencies,
non-profit organizations and corporate sponsors. From 1997-2001,
he worked as a Client Services Media Manager and Media Buyer for
McCann-Erikson in New York and Seattle, Washington. Frazer brings
a streamlined approach to planning and implementing media strategies
and negotiating print, television, radio and outdoor placement.
He continues to work as a relentless negotiator who knows what
it takes to develop comprehensive media strategy, objectives,
tactics and plans. Through his involvement with a variety of clients,
Frazer prides himself in his abilities to develop and implement
long-term cause marketing campaigns.
