Meridian Group Lends a Helping Hand
Employees to Volunteer at the Southeastern Virginia Foodbank

(Virginia Beach, Va) – Today, Meridian Group, a full-service marketing communications firm, will gather its employees to volunteer at the Southeastern Virginia Foodbank as part of the agency’s Thanksgiving tradition of giving back to the community.

For the past several years employees have enjoyed the opportunity to spend the morning pulling orders and stocking shelves at the foodbank. According to Foodbankonline.org, the Southeastern Virginia Foodbank is a warehouse or “bank” where recovered and contributed food is collected, sorted and distributed to over 500 local agencies. Recipients of the collected food include church pantries who then distribute or prepare and serve the food to those in need and area Kids Cafes which provide low income or at-risk children with a free, nutritious evening meal in a safe, supportive environment.

“The Thanksgiving holiday is a wonderful time for us to reflect on all we have to be thankful for,” said Meridian Group CEO Joseph Takach.  “The Foodbank is one of the most worthwhile organizations in the area. We are just doing our small part to help out.”  For more information on volunteering at the Southeastern Virginia Foodbank visit www.foodbankonline.org
