Get to Know a Groupie: Jesse White

November 10, 2015

I’ve been at the agency for three years.

When I wake up in the morning, my first thought is: “That wasn’t enough sleep.”

My favorite things to do are: Spend time with family, play some blistering blues on guitar, fine-tune a day-long BBQ on my Weber Smokey Mountain, and at the end of a good day, enjoy well-crafted Kentucky Bourbon (see below).

Drink of choice: Woodford Reserve Bourbon (get the Double Oaked if you’re feeling illustrious). Favorite cocktail: Kentucky Mule, heavy on the bourbon J

The accomplishment I’m most proud of: The life I’ve cultivated. When I look at my life: my family, my career, my hobbies, my house, even my lawn, I look at them with the pride that comes from hard work and positive thinking.

Most played artists on my iPod: John Lee Hooker, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Ahmad Jamal. Been on a serious Jazz and Blues kick lately.

My current desktop picture is: Bill Murray “Stripes” poster.

What I’m reading: Workamajig

A talent I wish I had is: Plausibly accurate impersonations, namely Morgan Freeman. I’d even be happy if I could do a decent Christopher Walken.

My favorite flicks: I don’t do a whole lot of movies. May have to time travel back to the 90’s for this… Comedy: Dumb and Dumber; Gangster Flick: Pulp Fiction; Drama: Forest Gump; Action: The Matrix; Adventure: Jurassic Park.

My guilty pleasures are: Nothing goes better with morning coffee than cake. If it’s around, I’ll normally skip the eggs and go for the donuts, coffee-cake, or even candy bars for my first meal.

My idols include: SRV, Hank Hill, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Indian Jones, and of course, my father.

When it comes to relaxation, I prefer to: Sip a cocktail on the beach on a nice day.

My DVR is full of: I’m a Netflix junkie these days but a few years ago it consisted mainly of The Colbert Report and about a third of the shows on the Science Channel. My latest Netflix addiction is the old Cheers reruns. I wish Cliff was my mailman.

My favorite quote is: Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known. – Carl Sagan

I am fascinated by: Many things but the one that really comes to mind here is how little we really know about the world (er, should I say universe… er, multiverse…) around us. Hence my favorite quote above.

My top three items on my bucket list are: Travel to Europe, learn how to surf, and I don’t know if this counts but, hopefully see a grandchild or two someday.

What I love most about what I do at Meridian Group is: The challenge and the reward. The challenge of staying current, continually self-educating and developing skills, and the reward of a beautifully delivered, solid product.
