Get to know Vanessa Coria, our Senior Public Relations Counselor.

I’ve been at the agency: Since October 2015 after a 20-year career in broadcast news!

When I wake up in the morning, my first thought is: “What day is it?”

Weekends are for: Karaoke, kittens, food prep, the beach, and mental recuperation.

Drink of choice: Room temperature water or medium roast black coffee.

The accomplishment I’m most proud of: Changing careers in my 40s and THRIVING!

Most played artists: HITS 1, 80s, 1st Wave and PopRocks on XM radio. Also, I prefer listening to audiobooks.

My current desktop picture is: A selfie with Jonathan Frakes, the actor who played Commander “Will” Riker aka Number 1 on Star Trek: The Next Generation. I happened to run into him and other cast members at the airport in Lake Tahoe, NV a few years back. Talk about a fan moment!

I’m currently reading: Going back and forth between The Federalist Papers (after seeing Hamilton) and On Combat: The Psychology and Physiology of Deadly Conflict in War and in Peace by Dave Grossman.

A talent I wish I had is: The ability to play either the guitar or piano.

My favorite movies are: The old and newer Star Wars movies, all of the Star Trek movies, ET and Anchor Man!

My guilty pleasures are: Karaoke, chocolate & kittens — all the kittens.

My idols include: My parents, Ronald Reagan and people who serve a higher purpose (members of the military; police, firefighters & EMTs; TEACHERS!).

What are you currently binge-watching? I just re-discovered the early-2000s hit show Alias starring Jennifer Garner on Amazon Prime. I can’t stop watching it. Hello young Bradley Cooper!

My favorite quote is: “Revenge is a dish best served cold” – old Klingon Proverb.

I am fascinated by: Big engines, fast cars, outer-space and baby animals.

My top three items on my bucket list are: Voicing a villain in a Disney movie or getting a walk-on role as a Vulcan in ANYTHING Star Trek, skydiving, and becoming a lead singer in a band.

What I love most about what I do at Meridian Group is: Winning for our clients! Winning by securing highly desirable coverage and winning through teamwork! Our team is AMAZING.
